Warlley Alves won’t be able to return to the Octagon until June.

The Brazilian welterweight was looking to bounce back from a couple of decision losses at UFC Fight Night 110 on June 10, but the promotion announced Thursday night that Alves was forced out of a fight with Kiichi Kunimoto due to an injury.

“I injured my arm and I can’t fight,” Alves told MMA Fighting. “I won’t need to undergo surgery, only physical therapy and some time off to recover the arm.”

Alves has no timetable for his return just yet, but doesn’t expect to be sidelined for more than two months.

“I was happy with the fight, I wanted to fight in New Zealand against a tough opponent, but God knows what He does,” said Alves, who was replaced by Zak Ottow. “I know the UFC will get me another opportunity soon in the cage. I’ll stay focused and prepare for what’s next.”

Winner of the third edition of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil in 2014, Alves impressed with three submission victories in his first four UFC fights, racking up a perfect 10-0 MMA record before losing decisions to Bryan Barberena and Kamaru Usman.
